Hey everyone!
I'm running my DNS 323 (firmware 1.07) for more than a year now and I was pretty happy so far.
I set up a Raid1 with two Seagate 1TB drives.
Only recently it started behaving weirdly.
example: I deleted a folder with several subfolders and files. After deleting, the subfolders and some (!) of the files were still there. Every time I refresh it shows something different. Once it lists two files in a subfolder, next time none, next time only one and then back to two, ... Also when I tried to delete these folders/files again I got "No such file or directory".
The troubles are getting more and more.
I made copies of all the files on the NAS on my local harddrive when I encountered the first problems. But now I see that the list of files in several folders on the NAS is not the same as in those I copied to my Desktop. Often I have more files in the copy than in the original on the NAS, but some files are missing in the copy.
Many files and folders on the NAS don't show up at all anymore now.
My idea was to copy all data from the NAS, format it and then copy it back. But now it turned out, as mentioned before, that I wasn't able to copy all the files. I'm a bit lost now.
I had a friend telling me that this was probably a problem of the raid-controller but I don't know enough about it really.
Does anyone have ideas? What would you do?
