I just got the 323 setup with two new 1TB WD Green drives. Firstly I couldn't get the device to stop blinking the status light and load the webpage without taking out one of the drives. One drive would work by itself, but the other would not work alone. I thought maybe it was a dead drive from factory, but after all the hdd testing tools, the drive looked good. So I plugged it into my PC and manually formatted the 1TB as ext2. Then when plugged into the nas, the device would boot with both drives and let me set the raid as I wish.
So I was thinking all was good until I started copying files to it. First I would mount the drive from linux using "mount -t smbfs" and that worked fine until the file size was greater then 2GB. I would get an error on my pc "file size maximum reached"... I tried coping the same file from a windows client and it worked fine, so I was thinking it was just the smb client linux was using. I tried ftp from linux and the file copied fine.
But now when I use my PS3 as a upnp client to the nas upnp server, those >2GB files are all showing 2048MB and the video stops playing half or quarter way through as if the file was truley 2048MB (I though maybe the file size indicator was just broken).
Then I used an original xbox with xmbc to connect to the nas but as a smb/cifs file share. There I see the files in their full size 4GB,11GB, etc..
So it appears that upnp server has a file size limit?? Is it possible that when I manually formated the drive from my PC I didn't set the correct block size or something? I only had to format the one drive manually, the nas did the other. Then afterwords, the nas reformatted both anyways, but maybe it left the block or something?
Any ideas? Thanks,
