Yep, you may want to have a look at the fourCC codes in the avi file. There are utilities out there to look at all the details of video files. Then you have to find a utility to change the codes to "XVID", from whatever is already there (DX50, or whatever). Google is you friend, the key word being "fourCC". There is "avic.exe". So we are clear, it is an "in place" edit, not a conversion or anything. It takes seconds to do. Best of luck.
