some websites cant be accessed or very slow
« on: January 29, 2011, 09:36:47 PM »

Hi there,

Using Dir628, I can't access some paticular websites like www.tianya.cn, tieba.baidu.com, or it is very slow.  But using another route (netgear), those sites are access smoothly.  I guess something was banned in the router, any clues?

thanks

Are they any web site filters enabled on the router?
Have you tried doing a factory reset to clear everything out and try again?
What is your ISP service? DSL or Cable?

Thank you.

No filters on the router and I tried to reset as well, sometimes they were very slow, sometimes they were not accessible, but when I switch to Netgear route, the site worked smoothly.

By the way , it is comcast cable.

Do you have Advanced DNS Service options on this router? Turn if off if you do. Make sure DNS relay is enabled if you see this. Make sure your primary and 2ndary DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual.

I would set up static IP addresses for your devices too.

How are you connecting to the router? Wired or Wireless? If wireless, what wireless mode are you using?
