Hi

This is something I was thinking about tonight and thought I should ask

When I start up my Lap top in the Morning it Connects Automatically to the Internet

My DIR-615 was Set up with a Password etc on my XP Desktop

When I Turned off my WI-FI on the Lap-top and when I click Connect to a Network

I see my Wireless Name with FULL BARS AND SAYS SECURITY ENAMBLED

Now When I turn the WI-FI back on it Connects Automatically

My Question is, If my Lap-Top Connects Automatically Can't anyone around me do the Same without Knowing my Password.

I did set it up to have a Password and I don’t remember telling my lap-top it

Thanks

Which password are you referring to?  The one you use to access the router's built-in web configuration pages?

You need to access the router's web configuration pages and enable the Wireless network security settings.  You should be using a security setting of WPA or WPA2.

Maybe the main reason why your wireless computer will connect automatically to your wireless network is that, the wireless settings of your router is already saved on to your computer. If you don't want your computer to automatically connect to your wireless network try removing the preferred wireless network.
