Seagate 1.5 TB - ST31500341AS Support?
« on: September 28, 2008, 10:46:02 PM »

Any idea when the Seagate 1.5 TB ST31500341AS will be supported?  I have read that you can use it but raid 1 will not work.

Thanks

I am sorry but I do not know at this time this will require a firmware update.

We too have 2 of the 1.5TB Seagates installed on our new DNS-323.

We hope the new firmware comes out SOON!

Bill

Does that mean that they currently work or that you hope the new firmware adds support?

I believe they work as standard drive there just seems to be an issue when configuring them as a RAID.

Hmm.  I really want a RAID configuration.  Maybe I'll stick with the 1TB drives then.

Any update on this one?  I see that you are working on a fix for the DNS-321 w/these drives.

I just bought two of them with a new DNS-323 and don't particularly want to format these drives separately if a fix for RAID support is expected in the near future.

Thanks!

Same deal as the DNS-321. We have a firmware in beta that fixes raiding 1.5TB drives and we are checking stability. Hopefully we can get it released soon but no ETA as of yet.

Interested in Beta testers for this one?  I'm actually replacing a 1yr old unit with dual 500GB drives with this one (well, someone else is inheriting the other unit once this one's ready), so I have a bit of time to burn and don't mind trying to put the patch through it's paces.

Just let me know :)
