dir-655 and ipsec/l2tp passthrough
« on: November 11, 2008, 01:18:56 PM »

Is it possible to connect a Dlink DIR-130 VPN router to the DIR-655 router and have IPSEC/L2TP VPN connectivity?  It seems in this configuration that I can IPSEC/L2TP VPN connect from within my home LAN, i.e., from local computer to the DIR-130.  However, when I try from a remote location to connect thru the internet, MS IPSEC Diags show that a "Retransmit failure for first IKE packet" error occurs.  Is this error the DIR-655 not passing through the IKE packets to the DIR-130?  If so, can this be overcome?
I believe I have the Virtual Servers set up correctly plus I have the PPTP and IPSEC(VPN) ALG's checked and enabled.

Does this router use Nat-T?

I can connect using PPTP VPN from remote location thru internet but I would like an IPSEC/L2TP VPN connection.
