Heya fellas,

I'm trying to set up a remote FTP for the DNS 321 to back up my web site automatically into it. I've set this up on a higher port because Comcast seems to be blocking standard port 21. I am able to connect into the FTP remotely, but it won't show a directory listing.

Here is my FTP program's error log:

[R] 257 "/" is your current location
[R] PASV
[R] 227 Entering Passive Mode (XXX,XXX,X,X,XX,XXX)
[R] Opening data connection IP: XX.XXX.XX.XX PORT: 7352
[R] Data Socket Error: Connection timed out
[R] List Error

Any idea what I could be doing wrong on the FTP set up?

Can you FTP to the NAS internally?

Do you have the port open on your router/firewall and forwarded to the NAS?

Have you tried active vs. passive FTP modes?
