No, I don't need two security modes. Should I set both of these units up in access mode? Or one as a bridge connecting to the router and the other as an access connecting to the bridge? When I do network discovery, I choose to connect to the dir-825. I have just been using the auto mode. What I mean is, bothe units are communicating with the DIR-825. These units are within 30 feet of the router and the signal levels are high from the router.

Thanks again for the help.

I was able to connect to 5ghz by setting two different names on the DIR-825. I labeled the 2.4GHz channel and the 5GHz channels with different names. Then went to http://dlinkap// and did manual setup and located the two different ssids on the DIR-825 and chose the one labeled for 5GHz. I Haven't solved the original issue, but am happy now that I am able to connect at 5GHz. I was also successful on giving one of the DAP-1522 a static AP.

Good to see you got it working. I had a feeling you had to give the 2 channels different ssid but wasn't sure.
