I am new member to the D-link forum community. I have a couple of questions to the DIR-655 users or other D-Link users. In my home we use Verizon FIOS (internet, cable and voice), have several laptops and gaming devices using wireless. We also have many devices (workstations, printers, xbox systems, Verizon component) hard-wired to the DIR-655. The DIR-655 appears to manage the traffic well, however I have a concern about performance becoming an issue. I'm not using QOS. Fortunately everyone in the household hasn't hit the internet simultaneously, so the perception I have is that the DIR-655 is fine based on our usage patterns.
Although I haven't received complaints from the family, I'd like to know how I can monitor the router's performance/capacity. I'm not aware of any D-Link admin utilities that I can view other than packet transmissions. Is there a tool that can report on the health of the router?
Last question, if an upgrade is to be considered, what recommendations can be made?
As mentioned earlier, there's many wireless devices (8 or so), 6-7 hardwired connections used. Several gaming device-types (Xbox 360, Xbox 1, PS 3) that hit the internet. Also one of the laptops is a MAC.
Appreciate your inputs and thoughts.
