swap HD_b2 and HD_a2?
« on: May 15, 2009, 01:13:02 PM »

I recently put a 2nd hard drive into my DNS-321, and knowing better than to leave my old HD in it while I format the new one I took out out. (last time I did that my existing HD was formatted as well - thanks a lot!) Doing so and formatting the new drive, my new drive now became HD_a2 while my old drive, once re-inserted, became HD_b2. How can I swap these around again so that my old drive is once again HD_a2 (so I can run a funplug from it).

I tried physically swapping both drives, didn't work. I tried removing both drives, booting up, then reinserting just the drive I wanted to become HD_a2. This didnt work either.

How can this be done? ???

What firmware are you running? And what is HD_a2 and HD_b2? The DNS-321 labels the drives as Volume_1 and Volume_2.

Please provide steps to reproduce issue? the bays used ect...
