Doing anything in the bit torrent tab is slow!
« on: February 18, 2009, 03:46:33 AM »

So i've finally configured the bit torrent client on my 323 and it works great on fw1.06.  Add torrent from file and download away ....  I've been going crazy with torrents and have downloaded about 16 big files (tv shows mostly) over 2 days.  Tonight I log in and go to my bit torrent "tab" and click "remove" to see what that does to a file that is at 100%.  I figure it will remove just the info in the list.  Well, it just takes forever to remove and I'm locked out of the 323 web interface.  Not sure if it was removed, but a few minutes later I was able to get the web interface.  I go back to the bit torrent tab and clicked on the "stop" link.  My web interface for the 323 froze again and returned with "Connection to server failed.  retry".  I hit <retry> and it's just sitting here as I type.

Anyone have an idea what's going on? Do I need to periodically reboot the 323 to keep the bit torrent client happy? Is memory being fragmented ont his little device?
I currently have three torrents downloading, but they are downloading slowly (like 500bytes/sec).

time for reboot?

I think it's time for me to reboot.  I'm seeding 14 torrents and only downloading two.  My uploads are at 97 b/s (yes! b/s know kb/s) and downloads are at 0.  Something is wrong and my connection to the server will fail if I click any links (stop, remove, remove completed, more details, etc).
Will the 'remove' and 'remove complete' remove the file you just downloaded in the 'complete' directory?

If I shutdown the 323, will it gracefully handle shutting down torrent uploading/downloading? Also, how to I restart the downloads after restarting the dns-323?

Thanks!

"remove"  or "remove completed" will not delete the files downloaded, only the torrent.

"Reboot" The torrent software will check the files downloaded. It looks like it is redownloading but it is just checking the data. After it checks it will resume downloading where it stopped.
You do not have to stop anything, just shutdown or reboot from menu.

Thanks Thomas.  Yeah, I finally red the help me which explains everything.
Rebooting fixed the issue.  I just deleted all completed downloads and my bt client is happy now :).
