I replaced an older 'g' router with the DIR-825 due to wireless issues. Wired worked fine. New router works great except that when I plug in the ethernet cable to my desktop, the computer immediately quits as if the power cord were unplugged. It is an Intel 82566DC on board gigabit port. I have switched cables, tried different router ports, etc., but every time I connect the ethernet, instant off. And the computer will not turn on with the cable plugged in. I installed an addin ethernet card and it works fine. Every other computer I have tried will work with the wired connection. I thought I might have a bad onboard adapter, but I connected my old router back up and the wired connection works perfectly with my desktop onboard port.
I've updated my lan drivers. I've tried other cables and computers. I just have the problem with my main desktop. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA
