Why not go back and read my post? I could make the statement again, and you could keep on telling me that you have no security suite, nad it wouldn't make my statement any less accurate.
What I said was - the only way for it not to work is for
something to block it - and the
most likely thing to block it is a security suite or software firewall.
I didn't say that a security suite was the only thing that could block it, and the DNS-323 is a consumer device, normally found in a consumer LAN, where VLANs are rare - as a matter of fact - my first post had a qualification in it ...
assuming that the DNS-323 and the computer on which Easy Search is running are connected to the same network
technically, if you're using VLANs and the DNS-323 is in it's own VLAN, then it's not on the same network as the computer running Easy Search.
