Cannot uninstall software to upgrade

Windows 7 ultimate, dlink dwa-160 a2 and dlink dir-815

I'm very happy with both the dlink usb wireless and the dlink router both performed great but I am running version 1.00 of the software and wanted to upgrade to the latest 1.80. So I downloaded the latest from your website no problems. Then comes the fun part tried to uninstall the older dlink dwa160 software, took a few minutes but no errors nothing. So then I try to install the new one and oops it only offers to remove selected applications. No matter how many times I go ok, no matter how many times I reboot nothing always the same thing. Then I noted that the software did not uninstall never has huh.

So now I'm lost how do I uninstall the older version so I can install the new one ?

A note I noticed in device manager that my dlink dwa160 driver is version 3.50 and it looks like it's a Microsoft version, huh. So I tried to uninstall that sucker first then the software, after several attempts with variations each time no success, it's still all there. Even tried to uninstall everything a few times with the dwa160 plugged in and a few times not.
