Newbie Help: Firmware Update
« on: February 25, 2011, 04:45:07 PM »

I have the DIR-825 H/W: A1. It still has firmware 1.0 from 2008. I'm trying to improve the speed, so I'm assuming that if I get to upgrade the firmware some things will improve.

I start the router admin page 192.68.0.1, then go to Tools, Firmware... but when I click on Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version, the answer is:  This firmware is the latest version.

Is this correct??? I see on dlink.com that there are many newer versions.

I tried to install the last version 1.13NA manually, but the router rejected it. ANY IDEAS?? SUGGESTIONS??

Thanks a lot!

Have you tried a firmware version between 1.0 and 1.13?

Otherwise you can try the native firmware loader.  You bring it up by pushing in and holding the reset for 45+ seconds until the power led blinks orange.

If holding it for 45+ seconds doesn't work you can  unplug the power adapter from the back of the router.  Push in and hold the reset ... keep holding reset while you plug back in the power adapter... keep holding reset until the power led blinks orange... about 20+ seconds.
