Author Topic: Able to connect DPR-1260 physically to DIR-655, but not wirelessly  (Read 14431 times)

So as the title says, I am not able to connect my DPR-1260 to my Router, DIR-655.
I've gone through the manual. Done all the settings , but all that happens is that it says:

Radio Status:   Searching for AP
SSID:   dlink
Channel:   n/a
Transmit Rate:   n/a

However, it's not to say it can't see the signal, because under Status>Wireless Networks, it shows the network available.

I've already tried all the different encryptions (WEP, WPA & WPA2), but still nothing.
And yes my firmware is up to date with V1.24

Calling tech isn't exactly an option, cause I bought the DPR-1260 just before I left Canada to go to Trinidad where there is no support whatsoever (I should have maybe thought of that before buying it).
I did try calling Venezuelan tech support, but they didn't answer the phone.
So I need all the help I can possibly get.

Thanks

I had exactly same thing. Try switching your router WiFi from mix mode to wireless G only, worked for me.

try setting the ip address of the DPR1260 to a static address within the range of the modem.  My modem address is 192.168.0.1 so I make the dlink 192.168.0.150

slwo make sure if you are trying to set up a wireless server that you put in the ssid and password of your dsl router or whatever you have.

A know this thread is old, but I have a similar problem. Changing the router (DIR-615) to g only is not an option for this office setting. The print server has a static ip within the same subnet as the router. The print server can see the ssid of my router, but seems stuck in "Searching for AP" and the router intermittently sees the ip address of the print server (it drops every other second).  ???

The print server does this whether it's set to Ethernet/wifi or just wifi. I had this print server successfully connected to a different ssid of a DIR-655 (a home network), but I needed the print server more for the office. The print server has the correct ssid & security settings of the DIR-615.

BTW: I have little trouble with the wireless of the DIR-615 (I know there are complaints about it). It has a DAP-1522 (Xtreme N wireless bridge) wirelessly connected to it at all times.

I cannot use Ethernet connection for the print server to the router since the router is in the closet in the break room. This was the only place we could route cable modem to. There is no room for the print server and printer in the closet.

I can use Ethernet connection for the print server to the wireless bridge, but that provides inconvenience since that device is in a locked office in an adjoining suite. I can do this for now if I must, but it can't stay that way.
Any suggestions?

As someone else said, I know this topic is old, but I haven't seen a response.  I am having the same problem.  I had a DIR-655 and the DPR-1260 connected flawlessly.  The DIR-655 started locking up about every other day so eventually I bought a new DIR-655 with a new hardware release.  Now, I am having the exact same problem.  The print server can see the SSID of my router, but seems stuck in "Searching for AP" and the router intermittently sees the print server but drops.

I have tried every suggestion on this page and then some, still no happiness.  Is the only answer to buy a new DPR-1260?  One that works with the new DIR-655.

I had this same issue this week - the DPR-1260 could connect via wire and see other wireless networks, but couldn't connect via wireless.  I changed some security settings on my DIR-655 to get a new Roku XD-S box to connect (it's going back and I'll be getting a second Boxee for the house, but that's a different story) and I couldn't print any longer.  When I switched the Cipher Type (under WPA settings) from AES only to TKIP and AES everything worked fine.
