password on share hides other shares
« on: March 17, 2011, 07:17:23 PM »

Hello,
DNS323 with latest 1.09 fw. I have two shares that are read/write, no password, for all user groups. When I add a third folder (share) and password protect it with access given only to a distinct user group, then all the shares are suddenly inaccessible and require a password. I have to reset the NAC list to get it back to two shares that all users can access with no password.
Ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Without modifications, you can no longer mix open and protected shares. THis was changed by DLink on purpose in one of the recent updates.

Dang!
I just went through the exact same issue and came here for an answer.
This stinks!
Why did they change this? Is there a work around?
Thanks
