I upgraded for I wanted to stay current, for I originally had 1.02 as of 2 weeks ago, but after reading the post about “ If it’s running fine, don’t bother to upgrade” I was starting to regret staying up to date with the router.
The HW version is A1
My ISP is TKS, its German for I’m stationed here and its cable.
Yes, it’s a Motorola SBV5121E
The only devices connected to are 2 laptops and an itouch. They all support N.
My log file has a lot of blocked incoming traffic for some reason. For awhile I was thinking it was the incoming traffic, but since I did like you suggested, things have been good. I talked to my wife and she was saying it could be on the ISP end, but is unsure.
I did like you suggested with the factory reset, and things looked good for awhile. I forgot to turn off my wireless on my PC, and the router configured for me, and gave me the best settings for windows, problem was now I didn’t have a hard line connection. A reset fixed this and was back on track. My signal strength was hovering around 90% but going up and down, so could have been interference like you said. I messed with the settings a bit, and reset to factory a couple of times. It would go well for a bit, but would get disconnected so I finally switched to “N” mode only and disabled auto scan. The channel I’m on currently is the factory default channel, and never really messed with it. Things are holding steady with what you suggested, and like you said, it did sound like interference. If anything changes I’ll keep you posted. Thank you for your time and help in this matter.
