keeping network on new computer
« on: April 05, 2011, 06:27:37 AM »

Hello
I am building a new computer to replace my existing one. is there a way to transfer my existing network to the new computer when I install the routers software? I don't want to redo all the devices that are connect wirelessly that are using it for internet connection.

Unless there is some profile saving option in the SW, no. You don't need to really install any SW, all you'll need to do is connect and enter in the PW for the wireless or just connect a LAN cable to the new computer to connect to the router. Theres no need to redue all other devices. It should give you all the network you need.

It's recommended that you set up all of your devices for Static Reserved IP addresses on the router, then set your devices to Auto Obtain IP addresses and they will always get and IP address and will never change.
