Firmware Misreporting?
« on: April 02, 2011, 02:25:20 PM »

I have tried several times to update my DIR-655 Ver A4 to firmware 1.35NA from version 1.32NA

It just won't take. I have tried multiple browsers. It acts like it is updating and restarts and everything.

The strangest thing about it though, is that the router when I click the "Check Now" button under "Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version" says that I AM in fact running the latest version.

It seems to me like the firmware version that is on the website is somehow misreporting the version and date...

I called tech support and they say that the hardware isn't accepting the firmware update....

but then why would it tell me I am up to date when I click that "check now" button to check for a new version???

Can anyone help me resolve this? I'd prefer not to have to RMA my router if I can get it to upgrade...

You need to do a Factory Reset them update the firmware, then it will show right version.  Do NOT use a saved config after going to 1.35NA, as the removal of SecureSpot is more of a Major Update than a minor one and there could be issues when useing a saved config file.
