DIR628 goes to sleep/goes off-line
« on: April 01, 2011, 04:50:21 PM »

 >:( I have had this router for about 6 months. About two weeks ago, throughput began getting slower, had to reset it a couple of times, seemed to have helped but now, not so much.
I have reset it back to factory settings 4 times, so far.
Yesterday I was using it, began to notice throughput slow down, then it just stopped...no data lights blinking, all just solid green, waited for about 5 minutes, no change, reset it (un-pluged power) waited for a few minutes, plugged power back in, waited for it to come up and it is now slower most all of the time. Does not seem to matter which web sites, what time of day, whether I use a PC or MAC (have both)...
Firmware: 1.22NA, Hardware ver A2
Any assistance, tips appreciated.
Tony ...

What ISP service do you have? DSL or Cable?
What ISP modem do you have? Stand alone or does it have a built in router by chance?
How are you connecting to the 628? Wired or Wireless?
What wireless modes are you running? Mixed?

Any cordless phones in the house?

Try changing the wall plug.  You could have a bad power outlet that might not have the correct power or some other device is drawing too much power.
