DIR-615 Drops Wireless After 24-48 Hours
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:34:11 PM »

Dear D-Link Forum Members,

I have recently moved into a new house that has a DIR-615 router. I have noticed with the router that it will drop the wireless connections after roughly 24-48 hours. The SSID will no longer be broadcast, however, the computers that are wired are still connected.

I currently have the E3 hardware version, plus 5.10 firmware on the router.

I have set the system back to default settings without any resolve.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Is this a firmware issue? I would appreciate any input on this matter. Thank you.

Try setting the WiFi mode from Mixed to single mode G or Mixed mode G and N.

Any other WiFi in the area?
Any cordless phones in the house?

Furry,

There are a few other wireless networks in the area. I'll see if I can change the frequency to see if that may resolve it. I will also try the wireless G/N modes.

I'll look to see if there are any wireless phones around.

Thanks for the info. I'll post if I find anything definitive.

Mine was doing the same, reloaded firmware: http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database and it is holding the wireless connection for now.

There is a thread for using DD-WRT. However I do recommend trouble shooting the problem first as far as it can go before doing any FW update or using other 3rd party FW. Not everyone has the level of knowhow to update to using different 3rd party FW and the knowledge to use it..It's pretty advanced. I do wish they had two modes, easy and advanced.
