how to limit speed on some computers
« on: May 15, 2011, 07:48:32 PM »

Hello,

i recently bought the dir-615, and i have 4 computers connected to it, 2 desktops with ethernet cables and 2 laptops with wifi. I want to know how to limit the internet speed on some computers, because i sometimes need full speed on my desktop. Is it possible within the router configuration interface?

Thanks!

These routers do not have any bandwidth throttling abilities. They only have QoS options that you can set up and use to ensure that all connected devices are getting good Internet speeds and data packets.
Some routers have prioritizing abilities so that say if your gaming on one device, others still get Internet with out affecting the gaming experience.

What HW version is this router?
If your router doesn't have this ability then I would get a different router that has QoS and prioritizing abilities.
