Why limit the number of MAC filtering slots?

Previous offerings had unlimited MAC filtering slots, why is this model limited to basically two dozen slots?

(As you guessed, I used up all of them and still need more.)

Any help is appreciated! ;)

The DIR-655 is still a home class product, if you're going to Filter more then 24 clients by MAC run a radius server.

With all due respect, being a home product is not justification enough. The DGL-4300 (my previous G only router) had unlimited MAC filtering spots. In fact, you could tell it to filter wired, wireless, or both types of clients besides the usual ignore or include clients on the list option. Also, when you assign the MACs to be filtered, you are left with a cryptic list of bare MAC IDs. Why not include a name tag space on the list. It would be useful when we have to go back and decide what stays or gets deleted. Again, this was present on the DGL-4300.

The way this feature is implemented on the DIR-655 is even more puzzling when you take into account that the DHCP reservation list is not limited in any way, just like on the DGL-4300.

I like the potential on this product, but it doesn't feel like a step forward somehow.
