I am about to get 4 new drives for my DNS-343 will these drives work ok
Seagate 2TB Barracuda Green SATA3 5900.1 64MB Internal HDD

I've got a slightly different version of those disks and they work just fine, so I don't think you'll have a problem.

I've been using 8 ST32000542AS (all formatted as "standard volumes") in my two DNS-343s for well over two years without issue. I could be wrong, but I believe the ST2000DL003 is a successor to the ST32000542AS. Another point to consider, I don't know if the ST2000DL003 is an AFT drive, which are presently not supported by the current DNS-343 firmware.

I have 3 ST32000542AS drives here which 2 are used in my DNS-323 and the other in my computer, was going to buy another one and use the 4 in the DNS-343 but do you think I can get one in NZ, no one has them anymore, if anyone wants to sell me one, I'm happy to buy it

If you search amazon, there are a few vendors that carry the ST32000542AS. You'll have to see if they ship internationally. If you search hard enough, you'll find online vendors. . . again, the issue is international shipping.

I've given up trying to locate this drive, I'm going to buy the DNS-343 and use the 2 SATAII drives from my DNS-323 and buy another 2 SATA3 drives and throw them in, given up on the 3TB drives also for the DNS-343 since there is no support for this, what I would really like to know from D-LINK is weather the DNS-343 will ever support 3TB drives? so I can hold off getting the new 2TB SATA3 drives and go straight to the 3TB drives, but as the days go by my drives are filling up, about 500MB free space left on my DNS-323, 2TB RAID1.

If you're planning on waiting, I wouldn't place much hope for 3TB support in the near-term. Any form of 3TB support for the DNS-343 in the future is speculative at this point as D-Link has not (at least openly) committed to providing this additional functionality.

All good, gone from a DNS-323 2x 2TB RAID1 to a DNS-343 4x 2TB RAID5 so there shouldn't be any need to upgrade to 3TB drives, I've managed to source another 2TB drive from ebay.

With the release of firmware v1.05b01, tracking down legacy 2TB HDDs is now moot since the DNS-343 will now support 2TB advanced format HDDs.

I need to find Legacy 2 TB drives because I don't want to upgrade my firmware for fear of bricking it.

If you live in the U.S., there are some vendors on Amazon that still sell the Seagate ST32000542AS.

It's considered good practice to use the same brand/model number HDD, especially when your NAS is configured using RAID.  This approach mitigates potential incompatibilities and other issues.  I have two spare HDDs on hand in the (unlikely) event that either of my DNS-343s experience a HDD failure.

Got a hold of another ST32000542AS drive yesterday which I am going to format NTFS and backup as much as I can to it and store it away as a spare
