Im really sick of this device. I bought it to store some media and stream it to my xbox so my computer didnt have to be on all the time. I set it up with Raid 1 with two 500gb drives and updated the firmware first. I copied everything over and then tried to stream things to my 360. Nope. After reading here I saw some restrictions on how folders had to be set up and file names so I spent all day yesterday moving and renaming 300 gb's of video files.
I then tried to refresh the Upnp server, about 4 times. Ie, firefox, safari. No dice. I thought maybe a reboot would help things out. Restart the services etc. Well heres where the fun part comes in, my nas comes back online and instead of my drives being raid 1 they are now both seperate drives. Both containing the same thing, but the raid has been broken. HOW IS THAT EVEN REMOTELY ACCPETABLE. So now if I want to make them raid 1 again I have to copy everything off, reformat, and copy them back. That is totally not acceptable for a device.
Oh also, the upnp server still isnt working correctly. It is showing all the files from how they were organized 3 days ago and wont update itself.
And finally, how is it that once I create permissions for a user I am no longer allowed to set a folder as access for everyone. I want to keep a private folder with subfolders with access for different users but also a public folder for my xbox to view files from. If I create users for the private folder then I can no longer use the upnp?
