i have tried that and everything else and cannot still see the D Link router in the available nearby networks. I tok the laptop to a friend's house with wireless and their router came up immediately at the top of the list and I was online. Here it won't show up no matter what I do.
Is there possibly a setting that isn't letting another computer use this network. It doesn't even allow me to put in the key.
If its showing you other networks, but not your own, its probably either the mode or the channel. Do this
1. Run a ethernet from one of the 1-4 LAN ports on the back of the router to your laptop.
2. Start > Run > Http://192.168.0.1 > Click on Log in. (Or enter your username and password if you set one up. Default is no password)
3. Click on Set up on the top, Wireless Settings on the side, and the "Manual Wireless Connection Settings" button on the bottom.
4. Should look
like this.5. Set the Wireless Mode to G only, if a older laptop, or G and N, if a new (Vista and above) one.
6. Uncheck "Enable Auto Channel Scan" and set the wireless channel to 11.
7. Make sure the "Visibility Status" is set to visable.
8. Click on "Save settings" in the top. Reboot if it asks.
9. Rescan, or refresh the network lists and see if you can see the network yet.
