Nintendo DS doesn't detect anything?
« on: June 26, 2011, 07:40:18 PM »

My Nintendo DS will not connect Wi-Fi to my DGL-4500 but my android phone does it with no problems...ive tried to do it by access point which I dont even know if the 4500 is an access point or i've just tried to do it by the normal detect mode and it doesnt detect it...is there something special I have to do to get my Wi-Fi on the DS setup correctly? Anyone who knows how to setup my DS(original) step by step with this router would be much appreciated i'm a true noob when it comes to routers this is my first one ever!

I believe that Nintendo doesnt' support any WPA and only WEP. I would recommend changing the routers WiFi security to WEP and try that.

depends on which DS you have. They have a bunch of different models that act differently and they are all quirky. I can almost guarantee the problem isn't the router although you may need to tweak settings.

For instance, on the original DS you had to use WEP and your password had to be 13 characters long no more no less and the wireless channel has to be set to 1 or 11 nothing else. I was actually on the phone with Nintendo when I found tucked away on their website about the 13 character password. They had no clue so I did their job for them and informed them how to help their other customers.

Nintendo really needs to get their **** together when it comes to connecting to the internet. It would be nice if they had a halfway decent service as well.

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/wrSetupHelp.jsp

Check under MAC Filtering, that was my way to make it work.
