Hello,
I have a Netgear VMDG 280 and a DLINK DIR-615. The Netgear unit is a Virgin Media cable router which is suplying broadband to my home. I am trying to set up a higher speed subnet with the 615, which I would like protected from the Netgear unit and anything else connected to it.
I am connecting the Netgear LAN port 1 to the 615's WAN port, and if i enter the WAN IP, subnet mask and default gateway listed on the basic settings page of the Netgear unit, the 615 flags that the Internet is available.
Despite the 615 saying it can see the internet, none of the computers connected to it can access the web.
I've tried DMZing the 615 from the Netgear unit (registering 192.168.0.2 as the DMZ on Netgear) but still no joy. I've also tried disabling DHCP on the Netgear unit and making sure that the 615 always has 192.168.0.2 on the Netgear LAN. Still nothing.
Perhaps there is something to do with port forwarding, but unfortunately my network knowledge runs out there...
This must be possible, and i'm hoping those involved with this forum can help me. Many thanks in advance for any advice!
