Problem with m4v file format
« on: July 13, 2011, 04:46:40 PM »

I had an Iomega Home Media Drive, iTunes played the movies, Front Row played the movies and my PS3 played the movies.  I bought the DNS-325 since the Iomega was getting buggy and I wanted more space.  All of my movies were in m4v file extension.

The 325 did not recognize that file format.  With about 200 movies, I just went ahead and changed the extensions to mp4.  They now show up on my PS3 (UPnP form the DLINK).  The problem is, Front Row does not recognize the renamed file format.

Is there some way to get the DLINK UPnP to recognize the m4v file container?  That is the preferred extension for iTunes...and the DNS-325 has an iTunes server application????? and doesn't recognize that file type?
