SharePort lives Again... EDIT: CRAP...no it Doesn't
« on: July 31, 2011, 04:23:10 PM »

Hi,

Had given up on SharePort on my Win7 X64 Pro installation a while back...even after Sesca's valiant efforts
nothing seemd to help....

Last weekend, I decided to do a slash and burn on my PC and do a fresh from scratch re-install.

After getting all 120+ updates setup from MS...I moved on to other items....

I had gotten tired of not being able to see ink levels using my little USB print server, altho it printed perfectly fine...it is only a 1-way device....  SO I reinstalled SharePort v3 for my DIR-655 Rev A2....

Darned if it isn't working perfectly fine like it did back in the past....

I can only presume that my previous Win7 install had some odd corruption in it....  Something that impacted only a very select few software programs apparently.

But, while keeping my fingers crossed, I have my printer shared, and my Ink Levels are visible once again.

EDIT/UPDATE:
Two Weeks or so down the road...ARRRRGH !!!

Well, I guess I spoke too soon.  Not sure what changed, but once again, my photos print all screwy (half page then it ejects, the next page comes out in psychedelic colors with separation; altho Text docs seem to print ok.

I am really PO'd about this....it WAS working so nicely...  I wish DLink would put some effort into this...I am not th only one with this issue....  Its a really handy feature of the 655....
