Lol I've been wondering the same thing. all I see is the server, but I have yet to find a way to be able to load files on to my ipod.

The short answer is you can't.  You will have to add the folders/files to the Itunes music list in order to add songs to your ipod and make playlists.

My understanding is that Apple changed the music server funtion in Itunes to not allow creation of playlists and song addition around the time they added the movie funtion to itunes at the request of the Studios and RIAA.

So rather than use the Itunes server, are we just as well to set our itunes library up and point the directories to the dns323 music directory?   Does that work better?

Yes...Bummer huh?  When you add a new track or album you will have to add it manually.

Your music has to be copied to the iTunes database to be able to be copied to other media media devices by design.

So using an itunes media server makes no scense then.

I will just use itunes to point to the DNS323 media directory and recreate my library.

The DNS-323 iTunes server It is just a Media server to iTunes for playback of the DNS-323 media in iTunes. This is a limitation by Apple iTunes.

lol, read around a bit maybe before posting!

I've now added most of my music to the library; enabling copy added files feature, I just route it to the directory on my 323. So when songs are added to my library they are copied into the folder on the 323.

A bit of work getting all the album artwork, not too bad though.

Works great for syncing to iPhone!
