I've got the DIR-825 2.02. I had an issue where if you did change the IP adress default 192.168.0.xxx to something like 192.168.yyy.xxx, the configuration page was becoming inaccessible. It was super slow, was displaying the wrong pages with missing images and wrong page formating. I had to reset the router to default and then it was working fine.

That seems to have been fixed since 2.05. Now you can change the default ip adress to anything you want and the configuration or setup still work fine.

But when I access the router from the exterior using the remote management at port 8080, the page are really slow to display. This has been tested with two different ISP (one cable and the other one dsl) and it's the same result. It is able to display the setup pages ok (sometime one graphic is missing in the page) but it is really slow.

I have not seen anything in the release notes of v2.06 but could there be an issue with the remote access of the dir-825 ?

When I am on LAN, the setup page are displayed almost instantly. By remote, it's super slow.

Any ideas ? Anything I would have miss in the configuration to make it work better ?

When you changed the default IP address of the router to 192.168.yyy.xxx, did you restart your PC or reset the NIC on the pc to reflect a new IP address from the router? If you change the IP address of the router you have to restart the PC do the NIC can get a new IP address as well.

v2.06 pertains to IPv6 fixes.

I recommend the following:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
