Is it bad to reset your router or modem frequently?
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:04:48 AM »

Just wondering is it bad to reset this router frequently?  since every time I make a small tweak, i have to save the settings and then reboot it.

Also, what about the modem? I have the Cisco DPQ 3212 modem and the Cox rep said, "do not reset this modem too much or you will wreck it"  How much is too much?

Thanks!

rebooting the router is fine if your making changes. However there comes a point when you should stop making tweeks and just enjoy the router.

Only time a modem needs resetting if there is problems with the ISP service and your trouble shooting connection issues. Other then that, it should be good to go with out having to reset it if you reset the router.
