DNS321 locks up when trying to scan Upnp
« on: October 12, 2011, 09:28:56 AM »

I have done a factory restore and tried again and the thing just locks up every time

Just garbage. I've had issues with this thing from the start and now the warranty period is over.

Anyone else have this same issue?

Yes, I have the same problem.  It was working before, but I just upgraded and installed two new 2TB hard drives and now it stopped working.  I enabled UPNP and configured it to look into a specific folder I created for all my media files and had it scan.  It then locked up.  I couldn't access the Dlink menu anymore.  Whenever I tried to put in the IP address of the Dlink it says that the webpage doesn't exist.  I can still access all of my files from Windows though.  I tried shutting it off and back on and then I could log in for a few seconds and then it locked up and the same issue.  The only differences between now and before when it was working is before I had different hard drives.  I think before I had two 1TB Western Digital or Hitatchi and now I think I have Seagate.  Another thing different is before I had it scan my whole hard drive and now I'm telling it to scan a specific folder on the hard drive.  If you figure anything out then please let me know and I'll do the same.

Nevermind, I got it working now. I shut it off again and powered it back on.  I disabled the UPNP and then enabled it again. I then changed the folder name. I was using the incorrect folder name path and that seems to have been what was causing the problems.  I put in the correct path with volume this time and it seems to be working fine.  I'm accessing it via my GoogleTV, I haven't tried to access it any other way so far.
