Hi. I have a Dlink DSL-2750U which I was using with my ADSL connection but today I dropped that connection and I am now using a different connection which works over a LAN set up. The provider of this connection said I'll not be able to use my existing router. Is this true? Is there a way I can configure one of the 4 LAN ports as a WAN port which I can use for this connection?

I spent around 4 hours so far trying to get it to work but so far I have had no luck! Hoping to find some help here.

In short, probably not.

No ethernet WAN port. You MAY be able to configure a LAN as a WAN, but I am not sure. The closest I could find to something like that is on page 82 of the manual. Even then though, its going to be a pain and temperamental. Your better off getting another device.

Thanks for your response HH. I went ahead with your suggestion after spending 5 more hours and purchased a new router which took less than 5 minutes to set up.

Now I am wondering, I have two routers and 3 computers. My computer is connected to the Dlink ADSL router where as two other computers are connected to the new router. The room in which this new router is set up, I have a wire that used to connect to a computer there to a switch I had in my room. I have two questions:

• Is it possible to join the two routers so that I can access the computers there?
• If yes, would I have to change the cable's connector considering the fact that this one connected to a computer and a switch?

Just FYI, these 2700 series modems have not been marketed here in the U.S. and thus where these units are sold regionally, the customers are recommended to contact the regional Dlink support provider there. IMO these 2700 series units are fairly more advanced and are probably considered a higher end business class device and I would recommend the home user use a home or small business class modem. The 2600 series will do the job and is easier to use.
