NAS TO NAS SYNCING
« on: October 29, 2011, 08:11:41 AM »

Hi,
I have a couple of the 320 NAS units.  I really would like to set 2 of them up so one can sync the entire volume(s) to another 320 on the same network without using a windows machine for the transfer.  Is there a simple way to do this with the software on the nas itself or do I have to install some other program / software to the nas.  Just to be clear I want to have both 320's identical and to be able to schedule the sync daily.  I would appreciate your help.  Thank you.

Yes, you can perform NAS to NAS syncing using RSYNC

  • Log into the DNS-320 web interface
  • Navigate to Application > Remote Backups > Server
  • Enable Remote Backup Service
  • Navigate to Application > Remote Backups > Remote Backups
  • Click Create to launch the Backup wizard

Please refer to the DNS-320 user manual for complete directions.
