« on: May 14, 2009, 01:10:43 PM »

I just got a new WD 1tb green drive.
I took out my WD 750 and put in the 1tb
strted the system
what do I do to make it see the drive?
do I need to initialize first? (before it's in the box)

Power Down the DNS-321 insert the drive and power it back up. Upon Login to the unit it should prompt you to format the drive. If the drive is not detected at this point goto the System settings and restart the unit and see if the drive is then detected after it reboots.

I pulled the drive out of the DNS, slapped it into a USB docking station, initialized it with WD Lifeguard, put it back in the DNS and upon poweron it saw it.  It's all formatted and working now.
