problem repaired cam
« on: November 24, 2011, 11:32:01 AM »

Just wanted to share my experience with the Dlink 'service'

Purchased my Dlink DCS-932L some months ago.  After some weeks my night view died, tried everything (firmware, reset, etc...) anyhow: broken!

After several mails, telephone calls...and again mails and telephone calls Dlink finally agreed the cam was broken, and I could send the cam for repair.

A week later I do receive a new (???) cam and this one seems to work fine (also the night view). So I want to set it up to 'mydlink' account and I get this: "the device is already registered with another mydlink account. To add it to your mydlink account, you must delete it from its original account first".

Conclusion: I received an ex-repair cam from another customer.  This customer has the cam registered to his 'mydlink' account, so he/she can just watch to MY CAM and I cannot attach it to my own mydlink account, because it has to be deleted first from his/her account?!!!

So finally: this cam is going to the trash can! :(

You should be able to remove the existing DCS-932L registration by flashing the DCS-932L back to the factory defaults and walking through the Wizard setup process.

ok, now I feel stupid  ::)

thank you JavaLawyer! did a factory reset, and in the same time I did an update to the newest firmware: problem solved! BUT anyhow, I assumed that when I receive a replacement cam from Dlink this should have already been done (factory reset).

anyway, good service from JavaLawyer :)
