Fireware 1.06 fail
« on: February 26, 2009, 04:50:49 AM »

Hi all,
I installed the 1.06 firmware, but it made the dns-323 unusable. It work for about a five minutes or so before the warning lights came on both drives (purple - I assume that's the mix of red and blue LEDs) and the drive disconnected. I rebooted and the same thing happened again. And again.
Has anyone else had issues with this firmware upgrade? Is there some official bug reporting route I should go through.

Thanks in advance,
Luke

No. Resetting is something of a last resort (the machine was restarted several times though) as the drive is in use. Is this like a hardware reset?

Login to the admin panel and use the reset all defaults button. It will reset the device to well default, but should clear up issues. Then you have to login and setup whatever settings you want. Normally when you install a new firmware things get a little wacky.

When you click reset all settings it basically changes all the settings to default. You can use the Dlink app that came with your DNS 323 and find your 323 and login using the default login and set your settings back. Its pretty easy.

I had an issue with my 323 not dimming the light when it would hibernate. After the reset settings it does what its supposed to do. I had some issues with my drives not hibernating in 1.06 and went back to 1.05, but you might have no problems and reseting your settings might fix things just right for you.

Ok thanks for the replies. Though, there's nothing essential for me in 1.06 so I'll think I'll stick with 1.05 for now :)
