Silly question
« on: February 21, 2009, 02:13:59 PM »

Is there any way to save existing data on a hard drive and prevent reformatting when first installing it in the 321?  That is, besides the obvious, and sane, ways of burning oodles of DVD's or purchasing an extra HD...  The drive is formatted in NTFS, narrowing the possibility of a positive answer, I'm sure.

This device does not operate in NTFS therefor it will need to be formated to be used with the DNS-321 to EXT2.

I take it you're aware that it is NTFS that is the proprietary file system?

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.
