Channel Width Problem
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:59:47 PM »

The dlink tech rep had me set the channel width as 20.  But the setup page says to do 20 only if you have no n cards.  I do have a n card, and would like to set it at 20/40 auto.  However, when I do that, none of my computers can find the router.  Not my n cards or my g cards.

Anyone have any luck with this?

Thanks.

I've got it 20/40 and both N and G can see it and connect.  Follow the sticky in this forum about connection speeds and security.  Try turning off all security until the issues are ironed out.  Also look to see what channels are in use by neighbors and force to one that is not.  Set transmission rate to best (automatic).  Might try either N or G one at a time until they work.  Make sure the drivers for the adapters are up to date.

Some adapters can not see a network if it is not broadcasting the SSID.  Enable visibility status.
