Timeouts
« on: December 06, 2011, 06:57:23 AM »

I have managed to create groups and users.
I can allocate which folders they see etc.
I have tested the FTP mapping with some remote users
and they can map via dlinkddns no problems.

However, copying a small file presents no issues, but if they try to
copy something larger, a few hundred Mb, the process fails at the end
with a timeout error.

What's happening ?

Hi Threlly,
I think part of the reason folks here don't always respond right away is that sometimes when you are very close to a problem, your perspective is very clear to you, but not so clear to everyone else.  Anyway, I am not sure if you are having problems with the FTP remote downloads or transferring files to your nas, but assuming you are talking about remote FTP access timeouts, my best guess is a possible issue with the FTP client settings, then unlikely, a possible issue with your router.  I would try a different FTP client or see if you can use IE etc. and see if you can get a successful download.  Good luck.
