1. One week ago I bought an DNS-302, set up the unit and mounted to my win vista computer.
2. I connected an USB-disk and pressed the "usb copy button". The transfer was interupted after 2h and appr. 200Gb data.
3. From win vista I made a new folder under "volume_1" on the DNS-302, called "temp". Moved the copied data to that folder.
4. Repeated step 2 above with same result.
5. Repeated step 3 above but gave the new folder another name "temp2".
6. Changed to static IP on the DNS-320.
7. Used an sync-program in win vista to copy from the USB-disk to the DNS-320 so that an new interrupt in transfer should not be that critical.
8. Now I managed to copy the complete amount of data, appr. 400Gb to the DNS-320. This means I have now filled the 1Tb disk to 75%
9. Then the real problem started... When I tried to remove the two temp-folders win says that I don't have permission.
10. I tried everything for 3-days, used other computers, one with win7 and one with Linux (Ubunto 10.11), changed users/groups/read/write permissions by the config settings for the DNS-320, installed the latest firmware, restarted and reseted but nothing worked.
11. If I check the permissions for "all users" on files on the DNS-320 I can se that the files in the temp-folders not have full permissions (only read) but files in the other folders have full permissions.
12. Then I called the D-link support in Sweden, they had newer heard about this and could not help me today. I will call them again on monday.
13. Does anybody here have the same experience and know how to fix? It seems that the automatic copy-function from my USB-disk to the DNS-320 have caused this limited file access and I can not find the way to change the permissions.
