Twoquestions about DNS-320 hardware and software

I am considering purchasing DNS-320, and I have two questions:

1) Which hard disk interfaces does it support? SATA, SATA-II, or SATA-III? (Perhaps all?)

2) Does it come with disk partitioning software?  I need to partition each hard disk to several different partitions in different formats (NTFS, VFAT, Ext3, Ext4,...)  If not, what is the recommended method of partitioning disks?

1) All

2) Partitioning is done automatically by the NAS so doing manually is not possible AFAIK. File system is in EXT3 format.

Do not confuse the DNS-320 with a USB mass storage device - they are very different.

To answer your second question - it does not matter what the format of the partitions are because you will be reading and writing to them over the network.  The DNS-320 takes care of the internal housekeeping and serves files to and from the network.
