Win7 offline files "sync pending" since upgrade
« on: December 24, 2011, 11:08:52 AM »

Hi all hope this is an easy one..

DNS-320 been working fine on firmware 2.00..  laptop uses offline files feature of windows7 to keep a local copy on the laptop of a share on the NAS. Been working like this for months.

Upgraded to the 2.02 firmware as i saw it was offical on the UK website..

I now get "sync pending" in the sync centre of windows 7
no issues accesing files or moving files etc.. Just refused to sync..

I had this happen when 2.02 was in beta.. assumed it was fixed and cant see any others with this issue..
Had to downgrade from the beta as it prevents me working.

Happy christmas!

Any help welcome. :o

As far as I know downgrade is not possible.

Would be nice, I didn't experince these issues until 2.02.
2.0 appears not to have this issue.

 :o

Anyone found a workaround?

Hi Dave tried it with both oplock on and off. As this would need to be enabled for sync centre.

For me after "upgrade" to 2.02 offline files stopped working on one PC that was synced. On another PC that offered "make available offline" on 2.00 this option is not available anymore.

WebDAV also does not seems to work, but that might be Win issue (red bad stuff about MS WebDAV implementation).

On 2.00 DLNA did not show any items using Media player, now I can see some content.

When can I expect fix to the offline files? It must come from some error in samba implementation. On MS servers there is some flag you need to set on server share to be abe to use it with offline files. Cause for this I bought Win7 PRO ;(

Hi Fi-5 yes the offline files is a nightmare after the 2.02 upgrade, it doesnt work for me. I have logged a support request with Dlink 3 weeks ago and nothing... another member here did the same DLINK claims there is nothing wrong with 2.02. I urge you to support a ticket to DLINK to see it get resolved otherwise it will never get resolved. Please log a ticket and let us know on this thread how you go.
