Connection intermittent

Hi all,

I have the following problems:
  • When I connect my 1522 wirelessly to my router in bridge mode, the 1522 does not show up in the list of items that are connected to my modem. However it is connected because it works (more or less, see below). Can I make it visible?
  • Up until recently my 1522 worked flawlessly. I changed my wifi password the other day, had to reset the 1522 and after reinstallation the connection works but intermittent. When I stream data through it from internet or by airplay, it works but for some seconds, pauses, works again for some time and so on. I can't get to the config settings because of the first issue so I don't know how to proceed for now. Ik think I know the IP address I gave it, but there is no response. I think I must have misconfigured the 1522 because it work very well before

Any ideas?

What wireless modes are you using on the host router and DAP?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

I will give it a try and report back.

Can you or anyone else help me out with the other question?
Is it normal that when I use the 1522 in bridge mode that I can't see it in the wireless connections of my modem (FritzBox) or that I can't approach it/log on to it by the IP address I gave it?

What I did last time: I gave it a facory reset and installed it again. There should be an easier solution.

Hello all,

OK, I found out that when I put off mac cloning, I can see my 1522 on my host router.

Since I use the 1522 in bridge mode I regrettably cannot change all the settings you suggested on my 1522.
I can change some on my fritzbox 7270 however.

Short GI is off
The Fritzbox is at 2.4G, the 1522 seems to be at 2.4/5G
I put network at 802.11/n+g
Security (Host modem) is at WPA+WPA2

The DAP was on channel 11 with about 11 other SSID's.
I let the modem pick it's own channel and it set itself up at channel 13 now.
I see no improvement regrettably.

The DAP was on channel 11 with about 11 other SSID's.
You need to see if you can put the DAP on a different channel. Having other wifi routers or APs using the same channel will interfere with the radio function of the DAP.
Use that application to find an open channel if you can.

As you might have seen, I put the host modem at channel 13 where it is on its own.
Regrettably that doesn't solve it for me.

Any more ideas?

Thanks for your replies.
The problem was solved by a firmware upgrade.
All other solutions did not help regrettably


I thought the problem was solved, but it was not regrettably.

But I found out some things:
  • When I stream (Airplay) through the 1522 to my reciever from my iPhone, the connection is quite good
  • When I stream (Airplay) through the 1522 to my reciever from my computer, the connection is quite bad (intermittent)
  • When I stream (Airplay) through my Airport express to my reciever from my iPhone, the connection is quite good
  • When I stream (Airplay) through my Airport express to my reciever from my computer, the connection is quite good
I need the 1522 though because I want to connect some more gear.

I think I tested most of the settings, channels, etc in combination with my modem.
Help is still very much appreciated.

This computer on wireless I presume along with the other devices. What kind of a wireless care is installed in it? Drivers up to date for it? Does the same thing happend if you go wire with the PC to the back of the DAP?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
