Just curious if I can connect an external USB hard drive to the USB port on the DNS-320 for added storage or backuos or just to copy my data to the DNS-320? The manual says its for a USB printer porrt, but i say a thread of something saying that connected a drive?
Updated---
Sorry, just read the last page of the manual and it talks about USB backup copying from USB drive to DNS-320.. I never say this feature listed anywhere else.
How are the speeds on this? I have one of my 2tb WD drives in a USB external encosure and its holding my data NTFS at about 1.7gB. Would it be faster to connect it to my laptop and FTP it to the DNS-320 (normally gets 2 files at a time both at 2-4Mb/s) connect the USB drive directly to the DNS-320 and hold the USB/MOUNT button for 1-3 seconds and its suppose to back up the drive to a folder on the DNS-320, which would be faster? and assuming i did the USB backup, it would copy all the folders correct? Right now since this drive came from my WHS it has parent folders and sub folders and is a mess. I would want to make a folder like MEDIA and have my sub folders in there PICTURES, MOVIES, TV etc. So if i backed this up could i later change the folder structure without retrasnfering files over the network?
