How to play VOB files with Sony blue ray DLNA
« on: August 25, 2012, 05:15:33 AM »

I have found that VOB files cant be played by the Sony BD player and have attempted to work around this by renaming .VOB to .MPEG, still leaving them inside the VIDEO_TS folder.

Oddly, the DNS-320 does not add these .MPEG files to the DLNA/UpNp media catalog so they are invisible to the Sony BD player. If I move the .MPEG files up one directory, out of the VIDEO_TS folder then they appear in the catalog ok and I can play them on the Sony BDP.

So what is the best way of playing DVD backups. Will Twonky do better or do I have to rearrange all my files on the NAS?
